Acupuncture

Michael Yang L.Ac., has been practicing Chinese Medicine since 2000. The son of well known Chinese Medicine doctor, Dr. Larissa Yang, Michael spent much of his childhood at her practice watching and learning. During his training, his academic knowledge and the “family secrets” were added upon through extensive travel and study throughout Europe and Central and South America witnessing what traditional medicine looked like around the globe.

Michael draws on his experience as a yoga therapist and martial artist as well as a specialist in integrative nutrition to aid his clients in achieving optimum health both inside and out. Not only an accomplished speaker, Michael will be publishing his first book, “Where Are They Hiding All The Fat Chinese People-the modern science and ancient secrets of weight loss,” in 2010.

Meghan Pickrell

Yoga and Pilates

Meghan Pickrell, CPI has danced since the age of 7, and has been teaching movement and Pilates since 2001. She received a B.A. in dance from the University of Colorado – Boulder where she studied all forms of dance, movement analysis, Bartenieeff Fundamentals, anatomy and pilates. Meghan continued her post-graduate education with Carole Amend, General Movement Practitioner, in the Bay area, receiving her certification as a Movement Specialist.

Meghan's specialties include working with low back pain, disc herniation, scoliosis, SI instability, and other spinal conditions. She uses myriad techniques including a full pilates repertoire, coordination patterns, yoga, and functional movement in order to assist her clients with proper alignment, joint function, strength and flexibility. Meghan is also currently finishing her Master’s Degree in Kinesiology at CSUN.

Erica Reid, OT

Physical Therapy

Erica Reid, OT, (occupational therapist) began her career in medicine almost twenty years ago working with top veterinary surgeons in Florida all the while teaching animal behavior at the local college. Erica transitioned to working with people after earning her Occupational Therapy degree from the University of Florida. The choice to pursue Occupational versus Physical therapy came as a result of the increased focus on the “whole body” and the psychological elements of the former.

Erica has had the good fortune to work in multiple cities and with multiple patient groups including stroke and spinal cord injuries, children in the school system and the elderly. Along the way she discovered myfascial release, lymphatic drainage, craniosacral therapy as well as pilates. Erica applies her vast experience to educating and treating both the bodies and the minds of her clients to relieve their discomfort and maximize their potential.

Integrative Medicine and Pain Management

Dr. Grant Williams, MD has built a unique foundation for himself as a physician by completing his MD at Ross University School of Medicine and then pusuing advanced training in Internal Medicine at UCSF-Fresno and Anesthesiology at LA County/USC. But what sets Dr. Williams apart is his subsequent training with Dr. Diana Schwarzbein. For the first time, he felt like he had found some answers to the problems that modern medicine could not solve. It was a new way of looking at the body and the way that all of the systems interact. He now offers patients a truly integrative approach to their health care. Dr. Williams is excited to share this wealth of knowledge and experience with patients at the Pacific Medical Group.

Psychotherapy

Mindia Gabichvadze, MFTi and PsyD candidate, provides therapy for teens, individuals and families. He has worked in the substance abuse field, identifying and treating dual diagnosis patients in an intensive outpatient setting. Areas in which he particularly specializes include: celebrities, actors, trauma, men's issues, adolescents, sexual/gender identity issues, parenting issues, anxiety/depression, couples therapy, and addictions. He uses a solution-focused and cognitive behavioral approach with clients and in treating families. Therapy is also available in Russian or Georgian, as he speaks both fluently.

Judi Miller, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker, who provides counseling for children, teens, adults, and families. Judi has a deeply held belief that with support people of all ages can move through challenging experiences and develop improved relationships, greater self-confidence, and make difficult changes and choices with more ease. Through a nurturing and interactive approach she helps individuals, couples, children and families create deep and lasting change that leads to a more meaningful, gratifying life. Judi’s professional experience includes work with adults, children, teens and families coping with relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, loss, substance use, and life transitions. She has extensive experience supporting youth and their families within the school setting, as well as supporting people of all ages as they cope with the short and long-term impact of trauma.

Often collaborating with other practitioners in the group to optimize clients' progress, they are a welcome addition to our integrated practice.

Chiropractic

Dr. Lauren Evans, DC graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College-Los Angeles with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2003. She has earned two Bachelor of Science degrees, one from San Diego State University in Cell and Molecular Biology and the second from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Human Biology.

Not only an accomplished scholar, but a national martial arts competitor, Dr. Evans holds a second degree black belt Kempo Karate. In the clinic she is able to meld both the benefits of academic knowledge and first-hand clinical experience when treating her patients. Perhaps it is her athletic background that makes her a very “hands-on” doctor that does not substitute quantity or gadgetry for effective, quality care.

Aesthetics

Christina Perez, licensed cosmetologist, has been making people beautiful and feel good for over fifteen years. A veteran of the Burke Williams Spa, where she spent time as a head trainer for all of the facilities as well as a manager of the skin care department, Christina has seen spa treatments from many angles and has developed a unique approach to beauty in the process.

Few aestheticians can blend the efficacy of the medtechnical side of skin care with the lush experience of spa pampering. Christina applies her knowledge of individual product selection with various massage techniques that leave her clients coming back for more. Whether they come for acne or anti-aging, acupressure or lymphatic drainage, clients are left with knowledge and advice that allows them to maintain the results they see stepping out of their treatments.

Energy Healing

Marla Phillips is an Energy Healer who views her healing practice as personal training for the Mind, Body and Spirit. Marla shares practical tools with her clients for meeting daily challenges whether they are going through a health challenge, choosing to transform some part of their life, or just trying to get through a stressful time. Using her healing hands she works with your body’s electromagnetic field and charka system correcting imbalances and stuck energies.

She is currently the National Spokesperson for The Children’s Health Education Foundation of Touro College, who has joined forces with Dr. Mehmet Oz of Columbia University/Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in a joint public health education mission aimed at school-age children called Health Corps. Marla began her journey as an Energy Healer in 1989. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in the Natural Theology of Sacred Healing was ordained a Minister of Healing is also a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York with a Bachelor’s of Fine art.
